CST 370 Week 1

This was the first week of CST 370, and much of it was review however it was welcomed review. Being able to look over some of the more common data structures like stacks and queues was great and reviewing some of the introductory algorithms that all computer scientists learn in school was also a good way to shake off the rust of not having used them in several months. I am excited to see what more this class has to offer and am ready to lesarn more about algorithms and their history.

CST 462

My time at my service learning site provided me with a great experience both for my personal development but also my professional development. It allowed me to put into practice much of what I have learned over the past year and a half and gain valuable work experience for my resume. I would have preferred a more structured experience that felt closer to actual careers I might have in the future but given how quickly the turn around is it can be difficult to have a true orientation. One of the most impactful parts was getting to see the work I was doing have an impact on my fellow colleagues and how that gave them a better ability to do their jobs. The challenges I faced came from a lack of understanding of my initial duties, my orientation felt rushed and hard to follow but once I started working it came very easily. I would tell future student to try to fully embrace the experience and not think of it as an assignment but as an opportunity to build your resume.
