Week 6 CST 300
Part1: All of my group members had great ideas two that really stuck out to me were the virtual or augmented reality classroom for underdeveloped and understaffed school districts and an augmented reality app that helps learn foreign languages. Both of these ideas deal with using an AR or VR headset which is a new and quickly expanding piece of technology that would be interesting to develop an app for but also provide practical services for people that need them. Overall we have a long way to go before we have any concrete decisions made but we have numerous good ideas like these that would make for good capstone projects.
Part 2: This week I learned about the proper way to build a resume and cover letter for programming jobs. Although I have made resumes in the past and have written cover letters, I have never had formal teaching on the matter. There were lots of helpful tips and pointers in this weeks lecture material. I also learned about the proper way to paraphrase and the who, where, when, what, why, and how method to take an excerpt of a passage and paraphrase it. My group discussed our possible capstone project ideas, and found some that we all agreed would give proper examples of our skills. I built a resume and a cover letter that list my current skills and previous work experience.
